Description: Garcinia morella is a species of tree found in India, Sri Lanka and southern Philippines. Its Ripe fruits can be eaten but they are very acidic. In Ayurveda the fruits are used in the treatment of dysentery, gastritis, etc. It is said to have anti inflammatory properties. Yellow resin from the bark called gamboge, is used in food, paints and medicines.
